Gokarna Beach Trek: How you can plan it yourself

Gokarna Beach Trek: How you can plan it yourself
Gokarna Beach Trek: How you can plan it yourself

Introduction

Om Beach is situated between Kudle Beach and Half-Moon and Paradise Beaches on one side and Kudle Beach on the other. Staying near Gokarna Beach is the ideal option because you can go to both sides of the beach on two separate days. Furthermore, Gokarna beach provides breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea, which you may enjoy, particularly when staying at the Shantidham Cafe

The first trek is from Om Beach to Kudle Beach.

Gokarna's Om Beach to Kudle Beach

The first journey, which takes about an hour and takes you from Om Beach to Kudle Beach, is the most popular (one-way). Because Kudle Beach is one of Gokarna's busiest beaches, I recommend doing this hike on one of the days. This is a simple, self-guided hike. Simply go to the Om Beach gate (near the auto stand) and look for signs directing you to Kudle Beach. You'll notice a few steps leading to a garden (which you must climb) and then you'll be wandering through woodland. Kudle Beach is a lovely beach with palm trees.

Gokarna Trek 2: Om Beach –

This is by far the most thrilling trek you'll ever experience in Gokarna. You'll climb mountains, go through jungles on small roads, over wet, slick stones, and see one of the most spectacular sunsets you'll ever see. This walk will shift your perspective of Gokarna after you discover the hidden jewels of this small coastal town. This trek offers breathtaking views.

To ensure that you have a terrific trip, see the most popular sunset, and stay safe throughout your travel, I have combined trekking (for the onward route) and boarding the ferry (for the return journey).

Let's get started!

Half-Moon Beach – Om Beach

Begin your journey from Om Beach to Half-Moon Beach early in the morning. As you wander along the beach, watch the flowing waves crash against the rocks. If you get lost, use Google Maps or ask the shack owners for instructions. My bestie and I took the wrong way and ended up in the middle of a forest. We kept walking till we realized something wasn't quite right.

Then we came to a halt in front of a driving vehicle and asked the driver whether this was the correct way to Kudle Beach, to which he replied that it was not and that we were walking towards a distant settlement. We returned in the same way, a little unhappy that the opportunity to explore a little, distant settlement had passed us by. I mean, wouldn't it have been an adventure within an adventure?

The Throne of Khaleesi on the route to Half-Moon Beach

Anyway, we made the mistake of continuing straight instead of turning right (past Sunset Cafe) to reach Half-Moon Beach. Keep this in mind and make sure you go to Half Moon Beach through the tiny path of steps behind Sunset Cafe. If you happen to end up on the same path as us, don't forget to tell us about your journey! Half-Moon Beach is reached by a mountainous route. Prepare to climb and descend steep, winding trails.

When you get to Half-Moon Beach, you will notice that it is a small, mostly unmanned beach. This beach, shaped like a crescent moon, is great for anyone looking for some quiet time away from the crowds.

Then begin your trek to Paradise Beach. This excursion will take you along the seashore, past large, black stones. You'll also be able to explore rugged slopes and enjoy breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Paradise Beach is also a great place to go swimming or camp at night. There are a lot of people here, so beach volleyball isn't a bad idea!

Gokarna's Paradise Beach

Take the ferry back to Om Beach after spending time on the beach doing what you love. Ferrymen will approach you, and you can decide when you wish to go. I recommend taking the ferry between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. to see the stunning sunset over the water.

As you board the ship, grab the railing, and take a deep breath, prepare to be enveloped in the warm, orange sun's aura. Smile and be appreciative of the incredible experience you've had on this short voyage.
