Dr. Asif Mahmud is a Bangladeshi scientist who is the mastermind behind the first Bangladeshi Covid-19 vaccine. He is currently working at Globe Biotech Limited, in the Research and Development section as an assistant manager and in-charge. Globe Biotech is the first Bangladesh company to have a Covid-19 vaccine under development.
Mr. Mahmud claimed they have succeeded in a preliminary animal modeling trial for the Covid-19 vaccine at a press conference on July 2, 2020, in Dhaka. He burst into tears at the end of the press conference.
It needs around six months to be marketed, he added. Indeed, it is a revolutionary invention by a Bangladeshi scientist. Many people don’t believe that Bangladesh could invention the Covid-19 vaccine. However, now it true.
Early Life and Education
There is no detailed information about Asif Mahmud’s date of birth, parents’ name, or other family backgrounds. Mahmud studied at Ideal School, Dhaka, from where he completed SSC with a good result. Then he completed HSC from Notre Dame College, Dhaka.
He enrolled at the University of Dhaka and received a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology scoring first-class and 3rd position. Then achieved a master’s degree from the same university and the same subject being first class first. He also received a Ph.D. degree from Gifu University, Japan.

In personal life, Asif Mahmud is a married guy but his wife’s name is unknown still.
